It is likely that you are looking at cached files (web pages copied to your hard drive by your browser*).
Even with vBulletin powered sites that have no-cache-headers option enabled to assist with that, but sometimes, the browser wins. http://images.vbulletin.com/images_vb3/smilies/tongue.gif
If you are having trouble logging in, staying logged in or out, posting, or if you are getting an error message that you don't have permission to post in a forum or view a thread, please try this before opening a thread to ask for help (as this is what you will likely be told to try )
1. Delete all cookies and cache INTERNET EXPLORER:
Tools >> Internet Options >> Delete Cookies (yes)
Tools >> Internet Options >> Delete Files >> Delete All Offline Content (yes)
FIREFOX:
Tools >> Options >> Privacy >> Cache (clear)
Tools >> Options >> Privacy >> Cookies (clear)
SAFARI:
Safari >> Preferences >> Reset Safari
2. Close all instances of your browsers
3. Open up a new browser and log in from fresh
* Your browser is designed to do this as it speeds up page loading times when you revisit websites. Files can get corrupted in that they don't get overridden with the new files, so the cache should be cleared to allow it to rebuild. Cookies get corrupt at times, and just need to be rebaked. http://images.vbulletin.com/images_vb3/smilies/smile.gif
Please note one other thing. If this does not work, one other alternative is that your ISP (the service you use to connect to the internet) may be caching websites you visit on the server level in order to speed up web surfing. That can have the same effect as files on your hard drive. Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done in those instances except waiting.
AOL/Earthlink/WebTV users, you will find more problems with this than most. My apologies, but that is the nature of proxy web service. http://images.vbulletin.com/images_vb3/smilies/frown.gif:
If you have tried this and it didn't work, please post for help.
